HTTP_poller input plugin

Hi,

I am running the sebp/elk Container for Docker on a Virtual Machine.
My boss told me to install the http_poller input plugin.

I managed to do that. But I have no clue how to use this.
I read the doc (https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-inputs-http_poller.html) but I don't understand a single word.

Can someone give me a step by step instruction on how to use that?

We can't help you unless we know what you've been asked to do with the http_poller plugin.

I think I should request some sample http and get it into elasticsearch. Isn't that the only thing the plugin does?
