I have a question

Novice trying to learn how all this works…

I have WinBeatlog output to send to elesticsearch and I am able to see all my logs in kibana.

What is the purpose of sending them to logstash then having logstash output to ES?
Why would I want to do this?

Or am I totally not underrating how all of this works.

You can do extra things in Logstash like enhance the data from the beat, and/or send the data to other systems.
