Is it me or logstash doesn't support special chars for monitoring password?

I have a password with ! and @ chars and for the life of me I cannot get it to connect to xpack for monitoring. I keep getting 401.

I switched to a password that does not use ! and @ and it worked...

Ok it seems that ! doesn't work. This is for the XPACK_MONITORING_ELASTICSEARCH_PASSWORD environment variable.

The rest of the cluster works fine with !

Also the elastic output plugin seems to be ok according to the logs.
