Logstash not closing threads

Hi

We're running an Elastic stack on version 7.3.0 with 2 Logstash instances on dedicated VMs each.
The problem we're facing is that Logstash's thread count has grown over 4000 threads over the past 3-4 weeks or so. It looks like Logstash doesn't close old threads? Or do you have any other explanation? The problem is that our monitoring system is triggering an alarm.
