I am having log4j.properties with tcp socket appender and I am seeing tcp dump. Also logstash is starting with log4j listener though no entry of data in logstash.
Please include more info and configuration if people are to be able to help you. Is it on different host? Where did you run tcpdump? What does the logs say? The more information you can provide the higher possibility that someone can help you. And please format config and logs.
