Logstash throws error INVALID_FETCH_SESSION_EPOCH after upgrading from 6.5 to 6.8.8

We get [org.apache.kafka.clients.FetchSessionHandler] [Consumer clientId=logstash-0, groupId=logstash] Node 0 was unable to process the fetch request with (sessionId=1844422694, epoch=11343): INVALID_FETCH_SESSION_EPOCH

We have upgraded our elastic cluster from 6.5 to 6.8.8 . logstash gets its feed from kafka 2.12 which is same . but i see the above errors after upgrade of elk cluster

thing is i have upgrade test enviroment from 6.5 > 6. 8 > 7.x but it did not throw any errors .

any help on this
