Logstash.yml file is missing on Linux Redhat distribution

Hi,

I've installed Logstash 2.4 on Redhat based system using rpm install. From the documentation, logstash.yml should be at /etc/logstash/ but I can't find any of the files there except conf.d directory. Can someone please help me find the file?

Thanks in advance..

As far as I can remember, Logstash 2.x did not have a logstash.yml file. I think this was introduced for the 5.x range.

Hi Christian,

Can you please explain, without Logstash.yml file, how can we configure settings like,
1)path.data
2)path.logs
3)log level
and many other configurations.

Thanks

Can someone please help me on this?

I think most was handled through command line flags. Why do you want to use Logstash 2.4 instead of the latest version?

Hi Christian, I am using Logstash 2.x because the server I am using has Java 1.7 and Logstash 5.x is not supported with Java 1.7.
