Is Logstash able to show the current system status of the machine that it is installed onto? Information such as storage access for all connected hard drives, memory usage, processor usage, temperature or does it only read logs?
Logstash can process the kind of information you describe, but it doesn't collect it from the operating system. Look into Topbeat/Metricbeat or collectd for that.

No, Logstash does not collect system status.

No. Topbeat is, however, being replaced by Metricbeat. See recent blog post.

Metricbeat doesn't have any UI worth screenshotting. It just collects data. You'd use Kibana for visualizations. You can read more about Metricbeat on elastic.co.
