Sorry, yes you are correct. We've been using the http-basic
plugin for so long I forgot it was even a plugin.
BTW, when it comes to our production environments, it'll need to be done w/ VMs behind the firewall w/ tunneling or on the same subnet. I assume it should work there where no http-basic
plugin is installed, correct? Or might these other bugs also come into play?
Those are all network connection things instead of auth things so it ought to just work. And if it doesn't they are likely things you have to get set up on your end. If there is something we can do to help we'll add it to the list.
Thanks, sounds good, is there anything that we might be doing wrong with http-basic
plugin or is the rest of this on the 5.1 side and the issues you've already raised?
I don't know the HTTP basic auth plugin. One of my cleagues found it when I
asked if he remembered supporting HTTP basic auth. I'd never seen it before
this conversation.
Hey Nik, I see that these bug are marked for v5.2.0 and I see you got a start on 22328 about a week ago, awesome! Is there an estimate for availability on that release? Really, I think the only one that's imperative to us to help us get started w/ testing upgrade from v1.7.5 is that one 22328. I anticipate we'll be w/ 1.7.5 for the next couple months regardless so it's not a rush I'm trying to place, just trying to get an idea so we can plan. Trying some re-indexing from our existing systems is just the start of the process for us.
