your best option to speed up those deletes would be to upgrade to ES version 7.8 or newer. I implemented deleting multiple snapshots at once in

and in addition to that, deletes were heavily optimised in 7.8+ and should only take a fraction of the time they take in earlier versions.
For 7.5 you could try increasing the number of threads in your snapshot thread pool by upping setting

thread_pool:
    snapshot:
        max: 50

This should help as well but by how much it depends on the exact data in your repository. 50 is just an example here, you could try going even higher if your nodes permit it resource wise.
