Hi,
Testing out the vsphere module.
Just wondering if the vsphere module supports AD, ldap or if the account needs to be a local vsphere account?
And if it does how do I specify that 'syntax wise'...
Cheers

So far from the Metricbeat perspective only basic auth is supported, see https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/metricbeat/master/metricbeat-module-vsphere.html
What I don't know is how vsphere would expose for example LDAP users and they would be also accessible through basic auth?
In case it does not work, best open a feature request for it on Github.
Very good, thanks a lot!
Metricbeat, or anything using the API, or logging in interactively, is sending credentials to vSphere. Where vSphere goes to authenticate those credentials depends on how vSphere is configured, and is no concern of the client.
