Where are the Logstash Logs?

I was wondering where can I find the logs of Logstash itself? I need to check if logstash is working as expected. Is there any default place where logstash stores its logs?

It depends on your installation. For linux is the default /var/log/logstash
For windows I do not know (I am not a windows user)

I am working on an aws EC2 instance and there is no var directory.

I have no idea how that works on a aws EC2 instance but a round of google show me this.
