I remember that Debian package was scheduled for the 0.19 release.
Is it still in the pipe ?

Yes, there is still some issues with it, especially around deleting the data when removing the package. Once its resolved (I need help here), then it can be provided as well: Migrate debian package creation to maven · Issue #1525 · elastic/elasticsearch · GitHub.
