Accedentally deleted /var/log/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.log file. how to recreate it

dear all,

i have installed elastic search 6.4. i accedentally deleted the /var/log/elasticsearch/elasticsearch.log file. i have tried to restart the elasticsearch service and the system itself, but it is not recreating that file. can somebody guide me how can i recreate it? i had tried to recreate it manually but elasticsearch is no more writing to it.
