Hey,

are you running elasticsearch as the same user as before? Can you check the permissions on the data directory? Which user are you running elasticsearch as?

How did you install Elasticsearch? Debian/RPM pacakge? Zip file?

Can you explain a little bit more about your setup? How did you execute the upgrade?
