APM distributed traces are not giving the correct distributed timelines for high latency traces

APM distributed traces are not giving the correct distributed timelines for high latency traces.
Example:

Let's say 1st bar in the timeline is showing 4 sec.
Then under the first big bar the below bars not giving the exact timeline of of the trace. I am trying to sum up the below all the bars but it showing 15-16 milliseconds. Where as first bar is giving time of 4 sec. Please help.
