Is there anything special in your setup? For example, are you using the Logstash or Kafka outputs? Are you using a load balancer in front of the APM Servers? Have you changed index pattern, generated custom templates, changed agent configuration etc.

Dear support,

I'd like to ask, how are transaction samples order in trace sample preview and if this order can be somehow changed to timeline. Seems randomly ordered:

chrome_qmW7v2FZ06

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open transaction with more samples
  2. Clik next repeatedly (as shown on the picture)

None
Provide logs and/or server output (if relevant):

Apologies for the late reply.
This has been implemented in [APM] Sort trace samples by sqren · Pull Request #140589 · elastic/kibana · GitHub and is planned to be released in 8.5
