I do not think that cross-DC clustering is supported by ES. Check this link: http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/guide/current/hardware.html#_network
Quoting: "Avoid clusters that span multiple data centers, even if the data centers are colocated in close proximity. Definitely avoid clusters that span large geographic distances."
Maybe other means of replication would be of more help. How about using an intermediate layer to replicate documents at all clusters. A queue would be nice.
