Attempted to resurrect connection to dead ES instance - but wrong host?

Hi,

we are using logstash (version 5.2.2) and ES (version 5.2.2) in a docker swarm.
The logstash instance is only for metricbeats and works very well.

input {
  beats {
    port => "5044"
  }
}

filter {

}

output {
  elasticsearch {
    hosts => ["es-master-1:9200"]
    manage_template => false
    index => "%{[@metadata][beat]}-%{+YYYY.MM.dd}"
    document_type => "%{[@metadata][type]}"
  }
#  stdout {
#    codec => "rubydebug"
#  }
}

As you can clearly see, the host for ES output is es-master-1 but I get the following error messages:

Does logstash try to connect to a local instance?

Hi Guether,

If you are using the elastic published docker image, you can override the x-pack logging destination by supplying your own logstash.yml file.

The default settings are here.
