Best practices to configure indexSet passwords for kibana and other users before elasticsearch starts (k8s)

Hello,
Please let me know the preferred options to set passwords for elastic users (kibana user, etc) before elasticsearch starts?

I noticed that we can use k8s secrets, what other options do we have? Do we have env vars like ELASTIC_USERNAME/ELASTIC_PASSWORD for other users listed below?
