you can see BulkRequestBuilderhttp://github.com/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/blob/master/modules/elasticsearch/src/main/java/org/elasticsearch/client/action/bulk/BulkRequestBuilder.javain
action for example in
WikipediaRiverhttp://github.com/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/blob/master/plugins/river/wikipedia/src/main/java/org/elasticsearch/river/wikipedia/WikipediaRiver.java
(check
how currentRequest variable is used).
I think it is pretty simple. HTH.
