Can Elasticsearch run together with a Cloudera instance?

I would like if it's possible to run elasticsearch with a cloudera instance?
The nodes have 1TB of RAM.

Would it have access to local storage? It is not recommended to have Elasticsearch run on top of HDFS.

Should I use Hypervisor to Virtualize the node and separate Cloudera from Elasticsearch?
