Cannot generate report PDF or PNG

Hello there,

I´m trying to generate reports using pdf or png but for some reason is not showing on the share option from kibana discover tab.

After checking on the reporting diagnostics tab, I saw something that may be the reason is not working. Follow:

I don´t have a clue how to sort this out so if someone ever had this problem and found the solution, I would appreciate if could share with me.

Hi

Which version of the stack are you running ? have you tried restarting the kibana server and trying again . Your full reproduction steps would be helpful to dig in deeper.

Yes, I've done th restart but the error still persist. Im running elastic stack version 8.3.2

The steps to find the problem is straight foward:
1 - Login to kibana
2 - Select discover and select a saved search

Then I´ll go straight to Stack Management -> Reporting and run the diagnostics:

Hi @francescouk @rashmi this is an issue of the server OS needing a dependency for the chromium headless server binary to function. It is explained in the Kibana Guide documentation under Set up > Configure reporting, in a section under "Install the reporting packages": Configure reporting in Kibana | Kibana Guide [8.3] | Elastic

I have ran a few searches in Google to find solutions for the `` error, and it looks like the OS needs a path to system fonts registered as an environment variable.

  • What OS are you using?
  • Do you have all the system dependencies installed, as according to the documentation?

Hi @tsullivan thanks for sharing. I´m using Ubuntu/Debian and after checking all the necessary packages, I just found out that two of them as missing:

fonts-liberation
libfontconfig1

After those installed everything started to work as expected.
