Configからのtemplatesのロードは廃止？

elasticsearchを1.7.5から2.3.3にアップデートする際に気づいたのですが、/etc/elasticsearch/templates/配下にtemplateを配置しているとロードされる機能は廃止になったのでしょうか？

Change Logを見ても該当箇所がみつからず気になったいます。
（APIから対応できるので問題は無いのですが）

結構前に廃止されていたのですね。。
