Create cluster from snapshot failing - Cluster is under maintenance / recovery

I've tried twice in the last 2 days to create a cluster from the snapshot of my production system, and each time they've failed. I'm getting:

{"ok":false,"message":"Cluster is under maintenance / recovery."}

on the new box. Eventually, the first time I was told that the process had just failed entirely. I wasn't trying to change ES versions at the time (2.4.4)

I need some support assistance.

Is it on #cloud?

If so then move your question to this group and provide your cluster id.
