In Kibana 3 you could set the AutoRefresh for the dashboard and it would save.
I can't see how to save this in Kibana 4+
It's not saved with the dashboard right now. There's a Kibana issue for it; https://github.com/elastic/kibana/issues/4393
It's being worked on but no guarantees which release it would be in.
