Can we change the data retention setting in standard license of elastic cloud (70 GB storage | 2 GB RAM | Up to 4.2 vCPU) with Hardware Profile (General purposes.
According to description "Suitable for ingestion use cases with 5-7 days of data available for fast access. Also good for search workloads with less-frequent indexing and medium to high querying loads. Provides a balance of storage, memory, and CPU."
So I am doubtful for data after 7 days.
We want to store data for atleast 6 months for debugging / troubleshooting purposes.

The data retention period in Elasticsearch is primarily determined by your index lifecycle management (ILM) policies, not by the hardware profile of your deployment. The "5-7 days of data available for fast access" is a general guideline based on typical usage patterns, but it's not a hard limit.
In the ILM policy, you can specify how long you want to keep your data before it's deleted or moved to slower storage. If you want to keep your data for 6 months, you can set up your ILM policy accordingly.
