Detect PII Personal Identifiable Information in Kibana

Hello Elastic community!

I was researching if there was any tool to detect from Kibana (or ES, logstash) any PPI Personal Identifiable Information (name, phone number, account number, address) in Elasticsearch. So our teams are alerted that PPI exist in logs so they can correct the source.

I saw an old post: PII data in ingested into the ELK environment, anything new happened since?

Thank you for your help!
Greg.

hi @gregbk,

interesting use-case. I am not aware of any tools. Rather than having this be a Kibana question, I would take this to the logs-channel https://discuss.elastic.co/c/observability/logs . It's not Kibana specific, but you might find people with more domain knowledge there.
