Difference between indexCount and indexCurrent

Hi,

  1. What's the difference between indexCount and indexCurrent from IndexingStats Class ?

  2. If we calculate indexCount on one single node then Is indexCount cumulative for the life time of the node and it will always grow or can the count be reduced to ?

Does it have any relation with Segment Merging in terms of change in count number ?

Reason to ask this question is that we are seeing IndexCount for a particular node go up or down and it does not always go up ?

Is this observation correct ?
