Disable logstash's binary log format

Hello all,

For some reason after a certain amount of time the logstash shipper's logs turn from text to binary. Is there any way to disable this or view the binary log format?

I've found a hard time finding anything on Google because of course "logstash binary log format" and other similar queries lead to discussions about logstash parsing binary logs and not the setting logstash seems to have :wink:.
