I have Elastic cluster with 3 nodes and its been working fine and sometime with other component it builds up queue on elastic and starts swapping. swap usage can spike up yp 20-30 % sometime (Considering each machine itself has 30GB MEmory and assigned 8GB heap size to Minimum and MAx) so we looked for the disabling the swap option but concern is we also have another separate app running on same machine and our system admin worries that if we really disable swap using memlock unlimted to specific to elastic user. would it freeze the entire system if elastic really running out of memory .
I would appreciate your help on if you could provide explanation on how elastic behaves when swap is disabled
