Does App Search support federated search and xpack security

I am not able to find a category for App Search while Enterprise Search seems to be the closest fit. So apologies if this topic is better fit in another category.

Does App Search support federated search across multiple indexes and does it have support for Elastic X-pack custom RBAC feature?

App Search supports querying multiple engines together using meta engines. Meta engines group together multiple engines, so searches done on a meta engine are performed on the underlying engines. Check our Meta Engines guide for more details.

You can map Elastic stack roles to App Search roles. Please check App Search users and access guide for a comprehensive description.
