Hi I am wondering when Dynamic templates get applied to an index? If I am reindexing can I update the dynamic template? I've already created indices and templates. I've updated the dynamic template for an index and reindexed but I haven't seen a change in the updated indices.
It gets applied when an index, that matches the pattern, is created.
If you already have an index and update the template, it won't be applied to the existing index/indices.
Okay, so if I reindex it will be applied when I reindex right? Since templates are applied at index creation time?
Yes, if the reindex creates the index that will match the template.
