Is there another way apart from elasticsearch-river-mongodb to import the mongoDB data into elastic search ?

There's a third-party input plugin for Logstash, https://github.com/phutchins/logstash-input-mongodb, that you might find useful.

try using the Mongo-connector from Mongo labs: https://github.com/10gen-labs/mongo-connector
