Elastic in gartner's magic quadrant

Hi!

Just came across Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Analytics and Business Intelligence Platforms dated Feb-2018 and the elastic stack does not even figure in that.

Any comments?

Maybe we don't fit into a specific magic quadrant? We do so much more than just BI after all/

The problem with Gartner's Magic Quadrant is that once you are in of them, it's very difficult to get out. Almost like a fence. And then you are stuck in that market.

Gartner's business model is based around money. Unsurprisingly.
You pay a certain amount and you get access to their analysts. The more you pay, the more time you get with them. So people with large budgets for this kind of thing are more likely to be better rated because the analysts can get a better understanding of what they do and where it might fit into one of these quadrants.

Also, the whole "magic" naming aspect says a lot.
