I couldn't find any examples of creating snapshots using the Elasticsearch Java client.

We’ve recently added java client examples for most APIs in the API docs, so if you go to the documentation for snapshot creation ( Create a snapshot | Elasticsearch API documentation ) you can select Java as language in the example on the right.
