I downloaded the latest elasticsearch version. I have installed java8.
I have configured successfully so far kibana/logstash but I cant get elasticsearch to work.
root@debian:~# sudo -u elasticsearch /opt/elasticsearch-2.3.3/bin/elasticsearch -d -p /var/run/elasticsearch.pid --path.conf=/etc/elasticsearch --default.path.home=/usr/share/elasticsearch --default.path.logs=/var/log/elasticsearch --default.path.data=/var/lib/elasticsearch --default.path.work=/tmp/el asticsearch root@debian:~# Exception in thread "main" java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException: /var/run/elasticsearch.pid at sun.nio.fs.UnixException.translateToIOException(UnixException.java:84) at sun.nio.fs.UnixException.rethrowAsIOException(UnixException.java:102) at sun.nio.fs.UnixException.rethrowAsIOException(UnixException.java:107) at sun.nio.fs.UnixFileSystemProvider.newByteChannel(UnixFileSystemProvider.java:214) at java.nio.file.spi.FileSystemProvider.newOutputStream(FileSystemProvider.java:434) at java.nio.file.Files.newOutputStream(Files.java:216) at org.elasticsearch.common.PidFile.create(PidFile.java:76) at org.elasticsearch.common.PidFile.create(PidFile.java:55) at org.elasticsearch.bootstrap.Bootstrap.init(Bootstrap.java:247) at org.elasticsearch.bootstrap.Elasticsearch.main(Elasticsearch.java:35)
i have also chown -R the /var/run/elasticsearch and the /var/log/elasticsearch
I suspect this a permission issue
Any thoughts?
