Elasticsearch Cluster with Authentication?

Hi,

Is it possible to configure elasticsearch cluster with authentication as our IPs will be exposed to the public.

Will they be able to communicate through the zen discovery if we put the authentication on them?

As far as Internal Network communication, we are in touch with OVH support for vRack but it is not leading us anywhere.

Looking forward for suggestions/thoughts.

x-pack adds security (commercial plugin).

Note that you should may be not exposé elasticsearch directly but your application instead.
