Elser in self managed cluster

The elser documentation seems to be tailored for cloud deployment . If one wants to deploy and install elser in self managed cluster where could I find the steps . Please help

You need activate the trial or have an enterprise license and then you can deploy it from the Kibana UI.

thanks! it has to be deployed in ML node correct? is there an API to find which node has the ML node deployed?

I think the _cat/nodes API should tell you that.
