We seem to be having random moments when logstash runs into an issue where it can't connect to the elastic servers and continuously tries to connect and even though the servers are up it continously tries to connect and wont break from this error message.

What is your setup ? Is everything local ? Do you have a valid license (some security features might have been disabled if your license is not valid anymore) ?

I dont think it would be the license because OSS and even so it's not like a full stop of ingestion. It seems to be random. It isn't always it's on random occasions. I guess the main thing is not knowing what could a cause for it everytime.
I moved your question to #logstash as it seems a better fit to me.
It would probably help readers if you share a bit more information like Logstash logs...
