Exiting : data path locked by another beat

Hi ,

I have upgraded the beats to 7.6.1 and i am experiencing an issue when starting the beat.
It keeps failing with a message that the data path is already locked by another beat, there is only one instance of the beat running and i have already tried to set a data path in the yaml file. This happens for both metricbeat and filebeat.

is there anyway to fix this issue ?

Unless you've a live beat process, look for a ".lock" file in the data directory and delete it. Then try to run the process again.

I have checked for the .lock file in data directory but there doesn't seem to be one
