I am using snapshot features of elasticsearch. I found that even if I have not added any file in the index, the index snapshot creates new files in indices folder of repository. And every time I take a snapshot index- files get changed. Is there any valid explanation for this behavior.
Snapshots work at the segment level, so if any new segments have been created through merging, these would get backed up. Do you have X-Pack monitoring installed so you can see if the number of segments have changed due to merging for the index in question?
