Filter queries are giving SearchParseExceptions

When I run the example here:
http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/api/search/filter.html

I get a SearchParseException.

I need to filter my results but keep the facets in tact.

I ran all of the examples on that page on ES version 0.15.2, and they
all work.
