First time errors

Hello

New to Elastic Search and Kibana. Have installed both on w Windows 2012 R2 VM following https://girl-germs.com/?p=438.

I can now browse to http://localhost:5601 on the local server, but get a Red status with the following issues:

  • ui.settings - Elasticsearch plugin is red
  • plugin:elasticsearch@5.3.2 - Unable to connect to Elasticsearch at http://FQDN.to.server:9200 The only changes I have uncommented and made are: elasticsearch.yml: cluster.name: ES1 path.data: F:\LogData

    kibana.yml
    elasticsearch.url: "http://FQDN.to.server:9200"

    Have I missed anything?

Can you open your browser on the Kibana server, and try to go to http://FQDN.to.server:9200? Does that work? What do you get back?
