Hi there,
I'm having a bit of trouble using the Maven published version of
elasticsearch-hadoop 1.3.0M3. According to the docs, it should be
compatible with both Hadoop 1.x and 2.x, although I'm seeing an error
indicating otherwise. I downloaded the sources, and modified the build to
compile against hadoop 2.x only and this seems to have worked. Is there a
java option perhaps that I should add to make the maven distributed jar
work correctly?

Hi,
You bumped into a bug that slipped in M3. This has been fixed in master - can you please try out the SNAPSHOTs [1]?
Thanks,

Excellent. The fix will be part of RC1 which is not too far off.
Cheers,
