Help with cluster on different network

(Julien Balmont) #1

Bonjour,

Hello,

I'm contating you regarding a cluster i'm trying to create woth two nodes
inside. And i'm facinfg again and again the same error: connection refused
:frowning:
I have two nodes, that I'll name NODE1 and NODE2 for this email, with
associated IP1 and IP2

here's the conf of NODE1:
cluster:
name: _cluster

network:
host: IP1

path:
logs: /home/logs/elasticsearch
data: /home/elasticsearch

discovery:
zen:
ping:
multicast:
enabled: false
unicast:
hosts: ["IP2"]

And here's the conf of node2:
cluster:
name: _1001

network:
host: IP2

path:
logs: /home/logs/elasticsearch
data: /home/elasticsearch

I've activated the trace DEBUG on the discovery, here's what I get in the
logs (I replaced the correct IPs by IP1 and IP2):

First of all, your cluster.name values need to be identical between
the two nodes. Even if you did not have connection refused issues, the
two nodes would not form a cluster between themselves.

Regarding connection refused, it might be a simple port access issue.
Is port 9300 open on both machines? Can you try 'telnet IP1 930' from
IP2?

Cheers,

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

thanks. I just realized IP1 could telnet IP2 but not the other way :frowning:

Sorry for disturbing
