Heterogeneous storage (SSD & non-SSD) for ELK

Hi,

Can I use a mix of SSD storage and non-SSD block storage on ELK instances and configure it to use SSD storage for task which can benefits from high IO and performance and use non-SSD for non-critical task.

eg:
I have 50TB of NVMe SSD storage locally attached to instance and I can use upto a petabyte of network attached block storage.

If yes, are there recommendations for what should we use SSD's for?

Each node should have just one type of storage, but you can divide nodes into zones depending of which storage type they have. This is what is done in a hot-warm architecture, which is commonly used for logging and metrics use-cases.
