How can I not store data under $ES_HOME/data while I'm using AWS S3

Hi, I'm using elasticsearch on AWS. with EC2 and S3, following guide
http://www.elasticsearch.org/tutorials/elasticsearch-on-ec2/

Everything seems work fine, just one thing,
When I put data into elasticsearch, S3 creates datas, but also there are
datas created under $ES_HOME/data path.

Is there a way to use only S3 storage for es datas?
I mean if I put data into es, it will store only in S3 and will not copy
into /data .
because EC2 volume is too small for my working logs.

Thanks.
