How to access elastic search on remote machine?

Trying to access the elastic search remotely. However, it seems to be refusing the connection.

Elasticsearch by default binds to localhost so if you have not changed this you will not be able to access it from other hosts.

I have added the following lines in elasticsearch.yml

discovery.seed_hosts: ["0.0.0.0", "[::]"]
#
network.host: 0.0.0.0
#
# Set a custom port for HTTP:
#
http.port: 9200

Check that there are no firewall rules blocking access.

9200 port is open. This elastic search is running on Azure Ubuntu VM.

Do you have a version mismatch between client and server? Make sure they are the same.
