How to check if index is compressed?

Hi!

I am starting using logstash + elasticsearch. How to verify that the data
in the ES really is compressed?

I am confused that the index files have quite a lot of lines that are
repeated in the logs, and thus could be compressed.

ES compresses by default since 0.90.6, it doesn't de-dupe though.
